Washington Parent / School Authorization is a formal process that allows school districts to provide parents/guardians with permission to access student educational records. This authorization is required for any parent/guardian who wishes to view, access, or update their child's educational records. There are two types of Washington Parent / School Authorizations: the Parent/Guardian Authorization Form and the School District Authorization Form. The Parent/Guardian Authorization Form requires the parent/guardian to provide written permission to the school district granting them access to their child's educational records. The School District Authorization Form requires the school district to provide written permission to the parent/guardian granting them access to their child's educational records. Both forms must be signed and dated by the parent/guardian and the school district in order to be valid.
