8.189 Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property is the intentional and knowing transportation of any property that has been stolen, converted, or taken by fraud from another person in interstate commerce. It is a federal crime under Title 18 of the United States Code. This crime is classified as a felony, and is punishable by a fine and/or up to 10 years in prison. 8.189 Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property can be divided into two categories: 1) transportation of stolen property within the United States; and 2) transportation of stolen property into the United States.
