Illinois Change of Address is a procedure initiated by the Secretary of State's office which allows Illinois residents to update their address on file with the state. This includes updating the address associated with your driver's license, vehicle registration, and voter registration. There are two types of Illinois Change of Address: permanent and temporary. A permanent change of address will remain on file with the Secretary of State's office indefinitely. A temporary change of address will remain on file for a specified period of time. To update your address with the Secretary of State's office, you must fill out the Change of Address Form and submit it with the appropriate fee.
