This is a request to the holder of a copyrighted photograph asking permission to use the photograph in a book or article. There is an attached addendum for the copyright holder to sign granting permission. The request can be granted for only a fixed period of time if the copyright holder does not want to grant the request to be used indefinitely.
While giving credit is nice, it doesn’t replace the need for permission. Always ask first before using someone else’s work.
Absolutely! As long as you have the green light from the rights holder, you can tweak it to your heart’s content.
Look for any credits or information underneath the photo. If it’s on a website, the copyright info is often listed there. If in doubt, reach out to the website directly.
You should get permission from the person who took the photo or the rights holder. Give them a shout and explain how you plan to use it.
