West Virginia Joint Stipulation and Order Authorizing Plan Modification (WVJSOAPM) is a document used to modify an existing retirement plan in the state of West Virginia. The document is signed by both the employer and the employee who is a participant in the plan. It allows for modifications to the plan such as changing the amount of contributions, changing the distribution of benefits, or changing the investment options. The modifications must be allowed under the applicable law and must be approved by the West Virginia Retirement System Board of Trustees. There are two types of WVJSOAPM: Type I and Type II. Type I is used to modifying plans for eligible employees, while Type II is used to modify plans for non-eligible employees.
