The Wisconsin Request For Installment Plan (TRIP) is a payment plan offered by the Wisconsin Department of Revenue (FOR) to provide taxpayers with an affordable way to pay back taxes. TRIP allows taxpayers to make monthly payments over a period of time, with interest, to pay off their past due taxes. There are two types of TRIP: the Voluntary Installment Agreement and the Court-Ordered Installment Agreement. A Voluntary Installment Agreement allows taxpayers to enter into an agreement with the FOR to pay back taxes over a specified period of time. A Court-Ordered Installment Agreement is a payment plan that is entered into as part of a court order. Both types of TRIP allow taxpayers to make monthly payments to the FOR to pay off their taxes.
