The Washington Agreement of Assumption and Guarantee of Workers Compensation Liabilities is an agreement between the State of Washington and employers who wish to obtain coverage for employees’ workers’ compensation claims. The agreement guarantees that the employer is financially responsible for any costs incurred by employees due to work-related injuries or illnesses. The agreement also provides employers with protection from potential financial losses due to employee injury or illness, as well as assurance that the employee’s medical expenses will be paid in full. There are two types of Washington Agreement of Assumption and Guarantee of Workers Compensation Liabilities: the Basic Agreement and the Enhanced Agreement. The Basic Agreement covers the employer’s liability for workers’ compensation claims up to a certain amount, and requires the employer to pay a premium to the State of Washington. The Enhanced Agreement provides additional protection for employers, including coverage for additional medical expenses and the potential for reimbursement of lost wages. Both agreements require employers to obtain and maintain workers’ compensation insurance coverage.
