Washington Proof of Personal Service is a document that is filed with the court when a party is served with a summons, complaint or other court papers. It certifies that a party has been properly served with the necessary documents. This document is required in order for a Washington court to proceed in a case. There are two types of Washington Proof of Personal Service: Waiver of Service and Personal Service. Waiver of Service occurs when a party voluntarily signs a document stating they have received the court papers without having been personally served. Personal Service is when a court officer or another person, who is not a party to the case, serves the other party with the court papers in person.
