A Washington Notice of Appeal is a document that is filed when a party wants to appeal a judgment, ruling, or other decision made by a lower court in the state of Washington. The Notice of Appeal is the first step taken to initiate the appeal process, and must include certain information about the case, such as names of the parties involved, the lower court’s decision, and the type of appeal being requested. The two main types of Washington Notice of Appeal are the Direct Appeal and the Interlocutory Appeal. A Direct Appeal is one which a party is appealing a final judgment made by a lower court. An Interlocutory Appeal is one which a party is appealing an intermediate ruling made by a lower court, such as a temporary injunction.
