Registering a used vehicle received as a gift If the vehicle was not titleable in the previous jurisdiction, you must provide the original (or a certified copy) of the registration certificate in the donor's name. If the donor is deceased, provide a copy of the death certificate.
Vermont titles vehicles that are 15 years old or newer based on the calendar year. From 1/1/2022 ? 12/31/2022, Vermont will title all vehicles with the model year 2008 or newer. All Titles (except ATV) = $35.00, ATV Titles = $22.00. Lien fee = $11.00.
You must complete Section 7 of the Vermont Registration Application or include your current Vermont Registration with the "Transfer Section" completed. A change of legal ownership of the vehicle you are transferring from must occur before a transfer of registration is allowed.
In order to renew your registration, you need to have the following: A renewal form from the State Department of Motor Vehicles that is no more than 2 months expired, for example if your registration expires at the end of June, we can process your renewal through the month of August.
