A Vermont Motion To Modify Extend Vacate Relief From Abuse Order is a legal document that can be used to modify, extend, or vacate a Relief From Abuse Order (RFA) in the state of Vermont. This document is generally filed by the party who is the subject of the RFA, or by their attorney. There are three types of Vermont Motions to Modify, Extend, or Vacate Relief from Abuse Orders: Motion to Modify, Motion to Extend, and Motion to Vacate. A Motion to Modify is used to alter the terms of an existing RFA, such as by changing the duration or the conditions of the Order. A Motion to Extend is filed to extend the duration of the RFA past the original expiration date. Finally, a Motion to Vacate is used to end the RFA altogether. All of these Motions require the filing party to provide evidence to support their request, including testimony from witnesses and/or the filing party.
