A person convicted of a misdemeanor in district court may appeal the conviction to the circuit court within ten calendar days of the conviction date.

For filing a notice of appeal or initiating any matter under the original jurisdiction of the court, $50 payable by check or money order to the Clerk of the Court of Appeals.

The appeal may be noted by the appellant or his attorney. NOTE: The case papers must not be transferred to the circuit court until the expiration of the ten-day appeal period.
