Texas HMO Service Area Expansion is a program that allows health maintenance organizations (HMO's) in Texas to expand their service area to include additional counties and cities. HMO's can choose to add new counties to their service area, expand their existing service area, or both. With this program, HMO's can offer their services to more people and improve access to quality health care. There are two types of Texas HMO Service Area Expansion: standard and expedited expansion. Standard expansion involves a formal review process that can take several months, while expedited expansion allows for a quicker review process that can be completed in as little as 30 days.
