A Tennessee Arrest Warrant is a legal document issued by a judge or magistrate that authorizes law enforcement to apprehend and arrest a person suspected of committing a crime within the state. There are three types of Tennessee Arrest Warrants: an Arrest Warrant, a Search Warrant, and a Bench Warrant. An Arrest Warrant is issued when there is probable cause to believe a person has committed a criminal offense. A Search Warrant is issued to allow law enforcement to search a person's property for evidence related to a crime. A Bench Warrant is issued when a person has failed to appear in court for a criminal hearing. All three types of Tennessee Arrest Warrants must be issued in accordance with state law and the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
