A Tennessee Expert Order of Protection Issued by Court is a legal order issued by a court to protect a person from acts of domestic violence or abuse. It is issued without notice to the person accused of the abuse or violence. The order may require the accused to stay away from the petitioner and other people, to not contact or harass the petitioner, and to relinquish any firearms or weapons. There are three types of Tennessee Expert Orders of Protection Issued by Court: Emergency Order of Protection, Temporary Order of Protection, and Permanent Order of Protection. An Emergency Order of Protection is issued when immediate danger is present, and can be issued without a hearing. A Temporary Order of Protection is issued after a hearing and lasts for up to 15 days. A Permanent Order of Protection is issued after a hearing and can last indefinitely.
