Tennessee Restraining is a legal order issued by a court in Tennessee to protect a person from physical or psychological harm. It is also known as an Order of Protection or a Domestic Violence Order. There are two types of Tennessee Restraining Orders: temporary and permanent. A temporary order is issued to prevent immediate danger, while a permanent order is issued to provide long-term protection. The order can require the restrained person to not contact or go near the protected person, their home, work, or school. It may also include other provisions such as the restrained person giving up their firearms. Violating the order can result in criminal charges.
