Tennessee MOTION — Motion to Appear is a legal document used in the state of Tennessee that a defendant can file with the court to request permission to appear before the court. This type of motion is often used in cases where the defendant is not able to attend the court hearings in person, due to incarceration, illness, or other reasons. It can also be used when a defendant is seeking to waive their right to appear in court in person. There are three main types of Tennessee MOTION — Motion to Appear: 1) Motion to Appear by Telephone; 2) Motion to Appear by Video Conference; and 3) Motion to Appear by Written Statement. These motions must be approved by the court before the defendant can be allowed to appear in any other way than in person.
