Tennessee BOND — Appearance Bond on Order for Show Cause is a legal instrument (or bond) provided to a defendant in court. It is an agreement between the defendant and the court that the defendant will appear for all required court dates. This bond may be required in order to be released from jail while awaiting trial. There are three types of Tennessee BOND — Appearance Bond on Order for Show Cause: a Cash Bond, a Surety Bond, and a Property Bond. A Cash Bond requires the defendant to pay an amount of money determined by the court before they can be released. A Surety Bond is when a third party agrees to pay the amount of the bond on the defendant's behalf. A Property Bond requires the defendant to provide a certain amount of collateral (such as real estate or other valuable property) in exchange for their release. Each type of bond has its own set of rules and regulations that must be followed in order for the defendant to remain free.
