South Dakota Petition Form is a document used to bring a legal case before the court in the state of South Dakota. It is used to initiate proceedings in civil, family, and probate cases. There are three types of South Dakota Petition Form: Petition for Dissolution of Marriage, Petition for Guardianship of Minor, and Petition for Probate of Will. The Petition for Dissolution of Marriage is used to dissolve a marriage and is filed by either party of the marriage. The Petition for Guardianship of Minor is used to appoint a guardian for a minor who is unable to care for himself or herself. The Petition for Probate of Will is used to prove a valid will and is filed by the executor or another party with an interest in the estate. All South Dakota Petition Forms must be filled out accurately and completely, and must be signed by the petitioner.
