South Carolina Order Access to Cemetery, Burial Ground or Grave is a procedure mandated by the state of South Carolina to ensure that individuals have the right to access a cemetery, burial ground or grave for the purpose of visiting, maintaining and preserving the cemetery, burial ground or grave. South Carolina Order Access to Cemetery, Burial Ground or Grave is available in two forms: (1) Access Letter and (2) Access Order. An Access Letter is a document requested from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control that grants written permission to enter and maintain a cemetery, burial ground or grave. An Access Order is a court order issued by a South Carolina Circuit Court granting permission to access a cemetery, burial ground or grave. Both Access Letter and Access Order are legally binding and must be obeyed.
