South Carolina Civil Rights — Color of Law is a state law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex in the exercise of any state or local law. This law prohibits any state or local government from denying any person equal protection of the laws or from abridging any person's civil rights or privileges. It also prohibits state and local governments from making or enforcing any laws that discriminate against a person on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex. The types of South Carolina Civil Rights — Color of Law include, but are not limited to, the following: Equal Protection of the Laws, Equal Access to Public Facilities, Equal Employment Opportunities, and Freedom from Discrimination in Education.
