The Rhode Island Notice of Transfer of Reserved Name is a form used to transfer a reserved name from one entity to another in the state of Rhode Island. This form is typically used when a company, limited liability company, or other business entity wants to change its name, either due to a merger, sale, or other transaction. The form must be signed by a representative of the entity whose name is being transferred, and then filed with the Rhode Island Secretary of State. There are two types of Rhode Island Notice of Transfer of Reserved Name: the Certificate of Amendment to Reserved Name and the Certificate of Reservation of Name. The Certificate of Amendment to Reserved Name is used to change a reserved name to a new name. The Certificate of Reservation of Name is used to reserve a particular name that is not already taken.
