Oklahoma Non-Resident Attorneys Recognition is a program that allows qualified attorneys who are not licensed in Oklahoma to represent clients in the state of Oklahoma. The program allows attorneys licensed in other jurisdictions to appear in court, participate in depositions, and other legal proceedings in Oklahoma. Non-resident attorneys must meet certain requirements to be recognized by the Oklahoma Supreme Court, including a demonstrated knowledge of Oklahoma law, proof of good moral character, and a minimum of two years of professional legal experience. There are two different types of Oklahoma Non-Resident Attorneys Recognition: Pro HAC Vice and Reinstatement. Pro HAC Vice recognition is granted on a case-by-case basis and requires the non-resident attorney to demonstrate a knowledge of the laws of Oklahoma and a good moral character. Reinstatement recognition is granted to an attorney who has been previously licensed in Oklahoma but is now licensed in another state.
