Oklahoma Athlete Agent Bond Information is a set of requirements for anyone who acts as an athlete agent in the state of Oklahoma. According to the Oklahoma Statutes, Title 74, Section 951.1, an athlete agent is defined as “any person who, directly or indirectly, recruits or solicits a student athlete to enter into an agency contract with the athlete or another person, or who provides advice or services to a student athlete for compensation.” In order to legally act as an athlete agent in Oklahoma, the individual must obtain an Oklahoma Athlete Agent Bond. This bond is a type of surety bond and must be in the amount of $25,000. The bond is a guarantee that the principal (athlete agent) will act in compliance with the Oklahoma Statutes regarding athlete agents and their activities, as well as the rules and regulations of the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OS SAA). There are two types of Oklahoma Athlete Agent Bond Information: the Surety Bond and the Disclosure Statement. The Surety Bond is a financial guarantee from the surety company that the athlete agent will abide by the Oklahoma Statutes regarding athlete agents. The Disclosure Statement is a document that the athlete agent must fill out and submit to the OS SAA, outlining their qualifications, background, and activities as an athlete agent.
