New York Out of State Pharmacy Applicants are individuals who live outside of New York State and are looking to apply for a pharmacy license in the state. These applicants may include individuals who have graduated from an out-of-state pharmacy program, or those who are transferring their existing license from another state. The New York State Board of Pharmacy offers three types of out of state pharmacy applicants: Full Out-of-State Pharmacist License, Limited Out-of-State Pharmacist License, and Out of State Pharmacy Technician License. The full pharmacy license requires successful completion of the NAPLES and MPE exams, as well as a record of good standings in all states of practice, while the limited license allows for the practice of pharmacy under the direct supervision of a fully licensed pharmacist. The out-of-state pharmacy technician license is intended for applicants who wish to work as a pharmacy technician in New York State, and requires completion of the PACE exam.
