The New York Notice of Related Case — pursuant to General Order #12 is a document used by the State of New York Supreme Court to identify and to track cases that involve the same parties or the same legal issues. This document is used to ensure that all proceedings are conducted in a timely and efficient manner, and to prevent duplication of effort. The New York Supreme Court has two different types of related cases: 1) Cases that involve the same parties and the same legal issues; and 2) Cases that involve the same parties but different legal issues. In both instances, the New York Notice of Related Case — pursuant to General Order #12 is used to link the two cases together. The document includes information such as the case numbers, the names of the parties, the date of the Notice, and the judge assigned to the case.
