Nevada EM- Emancipation is a process in which minors become legally emancipated from their parents or guardians. In Nevada, a minor can be emancipated if they are at least 14 years old, living away from home, and able to support themselves financially. The process of emancipation allows a minor to make decisions about their own life, such as education, health care, and other legal matters. There are two types of Nevada EM- Emancipation: judicial emancipation and non-judicial emancipation. Judicial emancipation requires the minor to file a petition in court. Non-judicial emancipation allows the minor to file a petition with their local district attorney. Once a petition is filed, the court will review the case and make a decision. If granted, the minor will be granted the rights and responsibilities of an adult.
