New Hampshire Consent to Magistrate Judge--Assignment at Request of Parties is a process that allows parties to a civil lawsuit to consent to having the case heard and decided by a magistrate judge. When parties make such a request, the presiding judge in the case will assign a magistrate judge to hear the case. This allows parties to bypass the traditional trial process and have their case heard and decided more quickly. There are two types of New Hampshire Consent to Magistrate Judge--Assignment at Request of Parties. The first type is known as a voluntary consent, where both parties agree to have the case heard and decided by a magistrate judge. The second type is known as a mandatory consent, where one party requests the magistrate judge assignment and the other party does not object.
