Montana Notice of Publication on Change of Name for Adult

Go to the Clerk of District Court's office in your county courthouse. File the original Petition for Name Change, Order Setting Hearing, and Notice of Hearing on Name Change. If you can't afford the filing fees, ask the Clerk of District Court for an Affidavit of Inability to Pay.

The notice must be published in one issue of the Gazette and in one issue of a newspaper circulating in the district in which he or she is resident. Applicants must seek an exemption from the Director if they wish to be exempt from publication.
