Michigan Complaint (Request For Action Child Protective Proceedings) is a legal document that is filed in the court in order to initiate an action in the Michigan child protection system. It is also referred to as a petition or a complaint for child protective proceedings. The main purpose of this document is to provide the court with information that could lead to the removal of a child from their home, if the court finds that the child is in danger as a result of abuse or neglect. This document is typically filed by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MD HHS) or a local child protective services' agency. There are three types of Michigan Complaint (Request For Action Child Protective Proceedings): Complaint for Dependency, Complaint for Neglect or Abuse, and Complaint for Termination of Parental Rights. The Complaint for Dependency is used when the court needs to determine whether the child is dependent on the parent or guardian for support and protection. The Complaint for Neglect or Abuse is used when the court needs to determine if the child is being neglected or abused by the parent or guardian. The Complaint for Termination of Parental Rights is used when the court needs to terminate the parental rights of the parent or guardian. In addition to the three types of Michigan Complaint (Request For Action Child Protective Proceedings), there are other related documents that are sometimes used in the Michigan child protection system. These documents include the Child Protective Services Petition, the Request for Hearing, the Protective Order, and the Notice of Hearing.
