The Michigan List of Qualified Neutrals (MAIN) is a statewide list of qualified neutrals. The list was created in 1998 by the State Court Administrative Office (SCAN) to provide access to professionals who are certified to practice in the areas of mediation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes. The MAIN includes mediators, arbitrators, and other neutral professionals who have been trained and certified by the SCAN or have met the qualifications of the MAIN. The list is available to the public and is used by courts, attorneys, and other organizations to identify qualified neutrals for ADR processes. The MAIN includes the following types of qualified neutrals: mediators, arbitrators, special masters, case evaluators, settlement masters, and parenting coordinators.
