An Illinois Wage Deduction Order is a legal document issued by a court or administrative agency in the state of Illinois that requires an employer to withhold wages from an employee's paycheck and remit them to the issuing agency for the payment of a debt or other obligation. There are two types of Illinois Wage Deduction Orders; the first is a Child Support Wage Deduction Order and the second is a Wage Deduction Order to Satisfy Judgment. A Child Support Wage Deduction Order requires employers to withhold a certain percentage of an employee's earnings from each paycheck and send them to the issuing agency for the payment of child support. A Wage Deduction Order to Satisfy Judgment requires employers to withhold a certain amount of an employee's earnings from each paycheck and send them to the issuing agency for the payment of a debt or other obligation.
