The Illinois Certificate of Readiness and Order — Divorce is a document issued by the court in Illinois to grant a divorce and mark the end of a marriage. This document is also referred to as a Final Decree of Dissolution of Marriage. It is issued when the court finds that all legal requirements for the divorce have been met, and that both parties are ready to terminate the marriage. There are two types of Illinois Certificate of Readiness and Order — Divorce: an Uncontested and a Contested Divorce. An Uncontested Divorce is one in which both parties agree to the terms of the divorce and sign a marital settlement agreement. A Contested Divorce is one in which the parties are unable to reach an agreement, and must go to trial. In either case, the Illinois Certificate of Readiness and Order — Divorce will state the terms of the divorce, such as division of property, child custody and support, alimony, and any other terms of the divorce that have been agreed upon.
