An Illinois Order Declaring Warship is a court order issued by a judge in the state of Illinois, which formally names the heirs of a deceased person's estate. This order legally establishes the deceased person's heirs and assigns them a share of the estate. The order indicates who is entitled to inherit the estate, and also assigns the deceased person's debts and other obligations. There are two types of Illinois Order Declaring Warship: a Formal Order and an Informal Order. A Formal Order is issued after a hearing in which the judge looks at evidence and testimony. An Informal Order is issued without a hearing, based on the information contained in an Affidavit of Warship.
