Hawaii Proof of Service On Respondent is a legal document used to prove that a notice, or other legal document, has been successfully delivered to the respondent in a court case. It is commonly filed with the court to show that the respondent has been properly notified of a court action. There are two main types of Hawaii Proof of Service On Respondent: 1) Personal Service (also known as “in-hand service”), which is when the legal document is served in person; and 2) Substituted Service, which is when the document is sent to the respondent via mail, email, or other delivery method. In either case, the Proof of Service must be signed by the server, as well as the recipient, and filed with the court.
