Florida Disposition of Personal Property Without Administration is a legal process used to distribute the assets of an estate when the deceased had no will, and the court decides who will receive the deceased's personal property. This process is available when the value of the estate is less than $75,000. There are two types of Florida Disposition of Personal Property Without Administration: Descent and Distribution and Summary Administration. Descent and Distribution is used when there is an intestate estate or when the deceased had a will. Summary Administration is used when there is an estate with assets valued at less than $75,000. In this process, the surviving spouse, if any, is the primary beneficiary and the deceased's next of kin are secondary beneficiaries. The court may also appoint an administrator to manage the estate during the process.
