The Delaware Application for Transfer of a Corporate Name is a legal document allowing a business entity to make a change to its corporate name. This document is filed with the Delaware Division of Corporations and is used to update the name of a business entity registered through the Delaware Secretary of State's office. It is also known as a Certificate of Amendment of Certificate of Incorporation, Certificate of Amendment of Certificate of Formation, or Certificate of Amendment of Certificate of Limited Partnership. There are two types of Delaware Application for Transfer of a Corporate Name: the Standard and the Short Form. The Standard Form requires more information from the business entity and must be signed by the registered agent of the business. The Short Form is a simpler version of the Standard Form and requires less information to be submitted.
