California Order on Request to Keep Minor's Information Confidential — Domestic Violence is a court order which allows for the protection of the personal information of a minor involved in a domestic violence situation. This order prohibits the release of the minor's name, address, school, date of birth, photograph, or any other identifying information which may potentially identify the minor. There are two types of California Order on Request to Keep Minor's Information Confidential — Domestic Violence: (1) Protective Order and (2) Restraining Order. Protective Orders are issued to protect the minor from further harm or contact from the abuser, while Restraining Orders are issued to prevent the abuser from having contact with the minor. The court order also allows for the protection of the minor's medical and counseling records from being disclosed without the court's permission.
