Arizona Order For Protective Address (APA) is a court order that allows victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking to keep their address confidential from their abuser. APA can be issued by the court on its own initiative or at the request of a victim. APA are valid for up to one year, and they can be renewed. There are three types of APA: Emergency, Temporary, and Permanent. An Emergency APA helps protect victims from immediate danger, and a Temporary APA is issued when more time is needed to investigate the case. A Permanent APA is issued when the court has determined that the victim's safety is at risk if their address is revealed. An APA can also provide victims with access to other services, such as housing assistance, counseling, and legal aid.
