Alaska Motion to Change Custody, Support or Visitation is a legal procedure whereby a party can ask the court to modify an existing court order concerning child custody, visitation or child support. This motion can be filed by either parent, a guardian ad item or any other interested party. There are three types of Alaska Motion to Change Custody, Support or Visitation: Motion to Modify Custody, Motion to Modify Visitation and Motion to Modify Support. In each motion, the petitioner must provide the court with factual evidence or legal arguments as to why the change is necessary. After the motion has been filed, the court will hold a hearing to determine whether to grant the motion. If the motion is granted, the court will enter a new order to reflect the changes.
