The appraisal gives the Department of Veterans Affairs the fair market value of the home. Once the VA has calculated that figure, it issues a document called the Notice of Value. This tells the lender and the borrower quite a bit when it comes to the asking price of the property.

26-1805 and 26-1805-1 are used to identify a property, request an appraisal, and the assignment of an appraiser. VA is required by 38 U.S.C. 3731(c) to determine the reasonable value of the property, construction, repairs or alterations and notify the veteran of such determination.

The SAR must issue the NOV within five business days from the time the completed appraisal is uploaded into WebLGY, unless there is a delay beyond the SAR's control. Any delays should be explained in WebLGY notes.
