What is an Income Withholding Order? Pursuant to K. S. A. 23-3102(e), an Income Withholding Order is a continuing order requiring an employer to withhold a set dollar amount from all pay periods of an employee who is responsible for child support (and may include spousal support or alimony).
Fill out a new Income Withholding Order (form FL-195). If support ended for all children, check the box "terminate". If support ended for at least one, but not all the children, check the box "amended IWO". Subtract the amount of child support paid for the child whose support terminated from the total support.
This is an order that obligates someone's employer to withhold money from his/her paycheck and pay that money to the State Depository. The State Depository then disburses this money as child support and/or alimony on behalf of the person whose paycheck was garnished.
Income Withholding for Support (FL-195) Tells an employer that the court made an order for you or the other person in the case to pay child support, medical support, spousal or domestic partner support (and any past-due support).
The parent is responsible for making all payments as ordered until withholding begins. It may take 30 to 60 days for the employer to begin withholding payments from the parent's wages, depending on when the employee is paid. The employer sends the payments to the state and amount due is paid to the parent owed support.
