New Hampshire Snowmobile Insurance Requirements All New Hampshire snowmobiles registered on any trail or area other than the owner's private property must carry liability insurance. This coverage protects against claims for bodily injury or property damage caused by the snowmobile operator.
The state of New Hampshire does not title Off Highway Recreational Vehicles or snowmobiles nor does it maintain any records of title or liens on these types of vehicles. A title, bill of sale or previous registration is not required to register an Off Highway Recreational Vehicle or snowmobile.
To register a snowmobile the owner must: Provide previous NH snowmobile registration OR the following vehicle information: year of manufacture, make, model, displacement, primary and secondary colors, and VIN. Snowmobiles are not titled in NH – no title, bill of sale or previous registration required.
Depending on what you are buying or selling, you might need to have your bill of sale notarized in Arizona. For example, notarization is required for a motor vehicle but not for a boat or gun bill of sale.
(4) 20 miles per hour on plowed roads on department of natural and cultural resources property open to snowmobile operation. (5) 35 miles per hour on all trail connectors. (6) 45 miles per hour when operating a snowmobile on any approved snowmobile trail.

All snowmobiles and OHRVs must have a N.H. OHRV/snowmobile registration if operated off of the owner's property. A registration is a privilege to ride off your own property on approved trails or with written landowner permission. A registration is also required to operate on frozen lakes and ponds.
If you buy auto insurance in New Hampshire, the minimum limits available for Liability Coverage are 25/50/25, meaning $25,000 per person for bodily injury, up to $50,000 if 2 or more persons are hurt, and up to $25,000 for property damage.
New registrations become available in late April. For questions regarding registration, contact NH Fish and Game at (603) 271-3422. All snowmobiles and OHRVs must be registered if operated in New Hampshire off the owner's property. There are no additional trail user fees in New Hampshire.
