To apply for the Medicaid Home Help Program, persons must be eligible for MI Medicaid. To apply, one should contact their county Michigan Department of Health & Human Services office. Option 1: The State of Michigan has an online portal for residents age 18 or older who were vaccinated within Michigan to obtain their MCIR vaccine records electronically. MDHHS is offering $3,000 for respite and caregiver relief services to eligible Home Help clients and their live-in caregiver who need assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and require continual supervision to live in their own home.
Effective November 1, 2024, the Home Help individual caregiver rate will be adjusted to $15.88 per hour. This rate adjustment is based on the verified increase in the state minimum wage that will go into effect on February 21, 2025. The Home Help agency provider rate will be adjusted to $27.00 per hour.
