Who can receive these services? We serve people with severe disabilities under age 60 who need help with daily living activities in their homes. Non-Prescription Drugs and Health Supplements These medicines are available for everyone to buy and aren't covered under insurance programs. Similarly, supplements like vitamins, herbal remedies, homeopathic medicines, and OTC medicated creams cannot be purchased using Medicaid funds.
Most people who enroll are covered for comprehensive services, including, but not limited to; doctor visits and dental care, well-child care, immunizations for children, mental health and substance abuse services, hospital care, emergency services, prescription drugs and medical equipment and supplies.
Legal Definition of a Caregiver In general, a family caregiver is an adult providing informal care to another adult. The California Department of Aging, for example, defines eligible caregivers as: Adult family members or other informal caregivers age 18 or older providing care to individuals age 60 or older.
