How do I request a roommate? You must first create a roommate group, which can be with one or more roommates. You'll do this using our online housing system prior to selecting a room. You can search for potential roommates based on roommate profiles, or you can search for specific students using their UniqueID.
Utilize websites and apps designed for finding roommates, such as: Roommates Craigslist Facebook groups specific to your area Roomster or SpareRoom Ask friends, family, or colleagues if they know anyone looking for a roommate. Personal connections can lead to more trustworthy arrangements.
Students will be able to request one another on the Search for Roommates section of the application. To do so, they will need to know the Screenname of the individual(s) they are requesting. This must be a mutual request for it to be a recognized group.
The roommate selection and matching process is managed by students through the roommate selection process. Students accept or decline roommate requests through the Housing Portal, click on the 2025 – 2026 Academic Year application and go to Roommate Selection.
Students have the opportunity to connect with others through completing a roommate profile. Profiles include a name, bio, and roommate questionnaire. Once complete, a student can add a specific roommate by GatorLink username or view potential roommate matches.
