Be a Florida resident and a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen. A student's residency and citizenship status are determined by the postsecondary institution. Pursuant to Section 1009.26(10), Florida Statutes and State University System of Florida Board of Governors Rule 7.008 (F), a classroom teacher in a Florida public school is eligible to use the Classroom Teacher Waiver. The Classroom Teacher Waiver Program covers in-state tuition up to six (6) credit hours.
Tuition Waiver Program The State of Florida Employee Educational Assistance Program allows each state university and community college to waive tuition and fees for state employees to enroll in up to 6 credit hours of courses per term. However, participation is subject to space-availability.
