Being in Arizona for 1 year does not necessarily make you a resident for tuition purposes. You will need to meet all of the requirements: one year showing physical presence, intent beyond the circumstance of being a student, and evidence of one year of financial independence, unless you meet one of the exceptions.
The independent student petition requires you to: Provide proof of domicile and continuous physical presence in Arizona for 12 months. Provide proof of financial independence. Overcome the presumption that you are in Arizona primarily to be a student.
Quality health coverage and insurance, tuition reduction, retirement savings plans, and more. We've got you covered. We respectfully acknowledge the University of Arizona is on the land and territories of Indigenous peoples.
The Arizona Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (AzLEAP) enables more low-income Arizona students to finance their college education. Through these need-based grants, undergraduate, low-income, Arizona resident students with substantial financial need are able to access dollars for college.
To be eligible for the Arizona Promise Program, you must: Be an Arizona resident. Graduate from an Arizona high school with a 2.50 GPA or higher.
