As of March 11, 2022, the medical schools that prefer the pre-health committee letter this application cycle include: Albany. Albert Einstein. Central Michigan. Columbia. Cooper. Creighton. Drexel. Emory.
To ensure proper consideration for a medical withdrawal, you are advised to withdraw from the classes prior to the deadline as posted on the Academic and Registration calendar (end of the 10th week for full-term courses). While a request is under review tuition payments should be made as scheduled.
Letters of recommendation included as part of a pre-health committee packet are accepted. All applicants should have exposure to medicine documented in a letter of recommendation from a health care provider.
Wayne State currently does not have a pre-medical committee, so a committee letter is not possible. It is your best interest to get a variety of letters from individuals who know you well and can speak of your character and academic strengths.
To submit a withdrawal request: Log in to Academica > Student Resources > Registration > Course Withdrawal. You must submit a separate request for each class.
Wayne State University students may register for classes on Academica. To begin, visit registration.wayne or click Student Resources > Registration > Registration Portal in Academica. Click Register for Classes if you know which classes you are taking or if you want to see what is available, click Browse Classes.
Procedures for obtaining committee letters vary widely among institutions, so you will need to make sure you understand your institution's process. You may need to attend information sessions, submit self-reflective essays, participate in interviews, and meet GPA and/or course requirements.
For applicants, committee letters can streamline the recommendation process by consolidating multiple letters of recommendation into a single, comprehensive document. It's important to note that not all undergraduate institutions offer pre-health advisory committees or committee letters.
Email: This is often the most convenient and professional way to contact a speaker. Make sure to include all relevant details about the event in your email, including the date, time, location, and the purpose of the event. Phone: If you are unable to reach the speaker via email, you can try contacting them by phone.
Make your written request concise and clear. Specify the date first (it may be impossible, whatever comes next). Then describe the audience, purpose, topic, and what a tremendous difference you hope that speech will make in the world. Then the financial arrangements.
