A sport coat with dress slacks, a collared dress shirt, and a tie. Courtroom participants not wearing appropriate business attire may be excluded from participating in courtroom proceedings. Dress appropriately for court. DO NOT wear shorts, tank tops, ball caps, or T- shirts.
Wear conservative clothing. T-shirts with curses, belly shirts, plunging necklines, sunglasses, and torn clothing are not appropriate. You do not have to buy new clothing for court, but remember it is a formal place and you want to be conservative and respectful.
Persons wearing blouses or dresses without straps; “back-out” or “belly-out” outfits; mini-skirts, satin caps, halter tops, revealing tops or splits, jeans, shorts, slippers and curlers, will not be admitted into the building. Men are also reminded that they are not allowed to wear durags or shorts.
Returnable to Assigned Judge All motions must be made returnable to the judge assigned to the case and all papers related to the motion must be filed on or before the return date.
Dress Appropriately In all cases, bikini bottoms or muscle shirts (those shirts where there are no sleeves and/or the sides are open) or anything considered too revealing is not allowed admittance to court. All hats should be removed before entering a courtroom.
Please do not wear shorts, cutoffs, tank tops, jeans, sandals or halter tops. Metal detection screening is required of any individual entering the court building. Please refrain from carrying all forms of sharp instruments or weapons.
